Simonetta Milli Konewko

Simonetta Milli Konewko is an Associate Professor of Italian and Director of the Italian Program in the Department of Global Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her book, Neorealism and the “New” Italy,” Compassion in the development of Italian Identity, came out by Palgrave in 2016, and its translation, “L’Italia neorealista.” Compassione e identita’ nazionale was published by Carocci in 2018. In 2020 she completed the translation of Around the Dinner Table with Grazia: Food and Cooking in the Work of Grazia Deledda, available on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Digital Commons for download. Her articles appeared, among others, in Forum Italicum, Rivista di Studi Italiani, Holocaust and Modernity, and Sinestesie. She is completing the English translations of Grazia Deledda’s Il sole d’estate and Leggende sarde.
