“FROM THE EARTH TO SUCCESS: Stories of Women in Comparison: Women’s Contribution to the Socio-Economic Development of the Province of Nuoro” is the title of the show meeting scheduled at the Eliseo Theater in Nuoro on Friday 11 March at 19:30. The event, promoted on the occasion of the International Day of Women’s Rights, is organized as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the birth of Grazia Deledda, and was presented during a press conference held in the council room of the Province of Nuoro.

Lorena Paola Urrai, councilor for equality of the Province of Nuoro, explained the philosophy of the event:”It is the first of a series of activities that will take place during the year. Stories of women who work and do business. These experiences will be told on 11 March from 7.30 pm at the Eliseo theater in Nuoro and included in the celebrations of Grazia Deledda, a woman who witnessed a very important figurative path for the quality of its fruits matured in an obstacle course. A second event is planned in Ogliastra”.

Costantino Tidu, Extraordinary Administrator of the Province of Nuoro, for his part, underlined the drama of the moment we are experiencing in which women and children are fleeing war:”On this date it is nice to say that there are rights that must be defended with positive actions like this one. . Telling the stories of these women is an opportunity to continue the battle of civilization to achieve true gender equality. Doing it also through the figure of Grazia Deledda means reaffirming the greatness of the writer and of the woman who knew how to break the chains in a complicated and difficult world”.

Also enthusiastic Fabrizia Sanna, Manager of the Province of Nuoro: “I am very happy with the result, in a short time we were able to create an event that will be a moment of reflection on the role of women. An evolving role, which must be told directly also for the important repercussions it will have on the territory”.

Giuliano Marongiu, presenter of the show, tells how the day of 11 March will be structured. “The life of Grazia Deledda is a story of emancipation and freedom, on this path the testimonies of women who still carry on a battle in the name of equality will enter. These women who we will host at the Elysée have often followed a similar path, and tell of life that coincides with an experience that has led them to success. There are many, and it is wonderful to remember it”.

“There will be Anna Gardu, for example, who has managed to do entrepreneurship with her art, there will be – continued – Maria Giovanna Cherchi, who left Bolotana to reach two Popes, Ombretta Floris, who does a job that always values women, Piera Cadinu from Orgosolo, who opened a liqueur factory and has become the emblem of her country, Vanna Fois from Ilisso is a giant of culture, Margherita Fancello created an innovative company out of nothing, Emma Graziano will tell us about her vision. We will have the opportunity to leaf through other stories together in this show meeting there will be space for singing, starting with the Nuoro Choir”.

The Bishop of Nuoro, Antonello Mura, will be present at the 11th event, who will bring some reflections on the issues of gender equality.

In conclusion Valeria Polimene, one of the organizers of the event, said:”We went to look for women from the province of Nuoro, it was not easy to find them, but they are there. We went into their companies, we got them involved. It is the first time that we talk about female entrepreneurship through their stories. The author Pietro Pala from these stories has sewn a plot that becomes an extraordinary narrative, a living and very strong testimony that becomes a mirror for all those who intend to carry on their dreams”.
